The Journeyman 600-Hour License Series courses are for Professional Electricians, working in the trade, or seeking work in the trade and are not for the “homeowner” or hobbyist.

Who Should Enroll: Apprentices in year 2 of their training. Pre-requisite: Intro to Electrical 1 or equivalent (150 hours)

Course Description:Designed for apprentices in their second year of training, this intermediate course builds upon core electrical knowledge and focuses on applying Massachusetts Electrical Code to more complex installations. In accordance with 237 CMR 22.01, this course is part of the structured classroom training required for Journeyman licensure. This is a year long course.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

 DC Theory

 AC Theory

 National Electrical Code application of AC and DC Theory

 Branch Circuit Calculations and Requirements

 Feeder and Service Calculations and Requirements

 Electrical Bonding and Grounding and Ground Path Theory

 Conductor Selection and Overcurrent Protection

 Wiring Methods

 Motors and Controls

 Transformers

 Low Voltage Systems and Controls

 Fire Warning and Security Systems

 Fiber, Data and Communications Wiring and Systems

 Use of Code book tables and examples

 Massachusetts Electrical Code and Amendments (527 CMR 12.00)

 Massachusetts Laws and Regulations Pertaining to Electrical Wiring

 Conduct of Electricians and Apprentices Including Inspection Requirements

 Job-site and Electrical Safety

Tuition is payable in two installments.  $675.00 due at registration and balance will be automatically billed on 12/1/25. Please review the NightHawks Adult Education Refund Policy.

Classes begin 9/9/25 5 PM - 8 PM
